About Pisa

Thanks to its Leaning Tower, it has become one of the most popular cities in the world. As a matter of fact, every year, Pisa Tower is caught in photos by thousands tourists coming from every corner of the world who come here to see such a unique thing in the globe.

Anyway, Pisa has much to offer: monuments, culture, museums, history and fun. Proud of its great past, as it was one of the four Maritime Republics, still today we find many well-preserved ruins and proofs of its glorious history. Nowadays, there’s an ancient and a modern part of the city: it hosts three very important universities in Italy: the Scuola Normale Superiore, the Sant’ Anna school of Advanced Studies and the University of Pisa. So, all the year round it’s easy to find many students and young people in the city.

Other main sights in Pisa are: the magnificent Duomo, Piazza dei Miracoli, the Palace of the Knights, the St. Matteo’s Museum, Duomo museum, the Statue of Cosimo 1st placed in Piazza dei Cavalieri, the Bell Tower of San Nicola Church – located near the Arno banks - the tower bell of San Michele of Scalzi Church and Santa Maria della Spina Church.
