Among the first wine varieties to be awarded the label DOC in 1966, this is a white wine made with 50-80% of the white grape Trebbiano and actually has its roots in Hebrew traditions. When a Jewish population inhabited Pitigliano in the 1500s, they created this white wine to be Kosher. It became popular among the Italians and it is still possible to find some bottles with labels written in Hebrew. Light and clear straw yellow with slight hints of green; dry, medium-bodied and soft, fruity and not too sweet. (It is also possible to find the sparkling wine: Bianco di Pitigliano Spumante)
