This label encompasses a variety of different wines produced in the famous ‘strada del vino’ on the Etruscan Coast. An example of one controlled is called D.O.C. Val di Cornia Aleatico passito: It is a very deep ruby with reflected violet colors; explosive on the nose with scents of ripe fruit, raisins, chocolate, liquorice and coffee; surprisingly sweet with a long finish, heat and balance. There is a wide range in variety of wine within this region in all three kinds- white, rose, and red.
