Castiglione della Pescaia is a very ancient city located in the green Maremma area (Tuscany). In the very beginning, the city grew up around a medieval fortress built on one of the many hills overtopping the coast, developing, over the years, at the feet of the hill and reaching the sea, between a channel and a small port.
In the surrounding areas, visitors will have the chance to marvel at beautiful sandy beaches that made Castiglione della Pescaia a remarkable tourist destination at national and international level.

From Castiglione della Pescaia it’s possible to enjoy a striking view, especially in the high part of the town; from there, visitors will have the chance to see Argentario promontory, Elba and Giglio islands, together with the beauty of the green, wide areas and nature reserves surrounding the town.
In the summer evenings, tourists and citizens crowd the streets of this lovely town, going out for a stroll, eating an ice-cream or having a drink in one of the many pubs and bars.
The main sights of the area are located inside and outside the medieval walls, in the high side of the town. Not far from Castiglione, visitors will also find important archaeological sites, such as the roman Villa delle Paduline or the remains of Vetulonia, one of the main Etruscan cities.
